Go! Chefs Kids Cooking Classes . Our kids cooking classes introduce youth to the pleasures of preparing and enjoying . Students learn basic cooking skills, the joy of eating and cooking with fresh fruits and vegetables, and how to become empowered and conscious consumers in a marketplace that spends millions to persuade children to eat high- calorie, low- nutrient products. Iron Go! Chefs. The program culminates in a yearly Iron Go! Chefs competition in which elementary and middle school groups from our Community Schools and Centers across the city come together to battle their peers for best tasting and healthiest dish. Students create original recipes that include one non- meat protein, two veggies and fruits of different colors, and one whole grain, and cook it live for a panel of expert judges.
